A vacuum drum filter press comprises a rotating drum inside a sump holding the slurry to be filtered. As the drum rotates through the slurry, vacuum suction pulls the liquid and suspended solids onto the drum’s pre-coated filter medium.
The liquid is drawn through the filter medium by vacuum, collected inside the drum, and then discharged. The solid cake retained on the drum’s outer surface is moved to a scraping assembly, where it is scraped off along with a thin layer of the filter medium—exposing a fresh filtering surface for the next cycle as the drum continues rotating.
